It is impossible to fabricate profound depths of thought and when one tries it becomes nearly instantaneously clear the thoughts being spewed have been fabricated or stolen. A great idea is only as great as the simplicity of interpretation to which it lends itself. If you do not know what you are talking about your audience cannot possible understand what you are trying to convey. Speak in a manner that is understandable to the intended audience. If you oversimplify people will assume you to be arrogant and condescending yet if you do not use simple to understand conversational speech you will seem elitist. Know your audience because they will refuse to know you if you don’t.
Also, patience with the purpose of understanding is not the same as tolerance of abuse. Distinguish between malevolence and ignorance (cultural or otherwise).
